Keeping the Wheels Rolling: A Chat and Ride with Longevity Advisor Kim Collier

What does it take to keep riding strong, confidently, and joyfully as we age? Join Dirty Freehub for a special morning with Kim Collier, our Longevity Advisor, lifelong cyclist, movement coach, and expert in healthy aging. We’ll begin with an informal conversation about staying adventure-ready—including strength, mobility, recovery, nutrition, and how our approach to cycling should evolve over time. (So bring your questions!)

Specifically, let’s talk about

– What do most cyclists get wrong with aging?
– What do we need to do differently to keep on cycling?
– How much rest do we really need?
– How can we avoid injuries?

Kim brings more than 30 years of experience in the fitness industry. She is a USA Cycling Level 2 Coach, Certified Personal Trainer, Nutrition and Lifestyle Coach, Restorative Exercise Specialist, and Functional Range Conditioning Mobility Specialist. Most importantly, she understands firsthand the challenges aging athletes face—and believes that decline does not have to be inevitable.

After the conversation, we’ll put those ideas into motion with a social ride on Dirty Freehub’s Hauling Lava route. This easier ride follows the Upper Deschutes River from Aspen Day Use Area to Lava Lands Visitor Center. Along the way, we’ll ride the historic Old Haul Road, visit Benham Falls, and pedal beside ancient lava flows. The route has gentle grades and a mix of approximately 55% gravel and 45% bike paths.
