Love Where You Ride. Give Back Where You Ride.
Three Ways to Make a Difference.
Great gravel routes don’t happen by accident. They take exploration, local knowledge, hard work, and a community of people who care.
At Dirty Freehub, stewardship is how we give back to the roads, places, and communities that make gravel cycling special. Whether you’re exploring new routes, bringing riders together, or helping keep roads and trails open, there’s a way to make a difference.
Three programs. One shared passion. Better riding for everyone.
Scout Program
Explore with purpose.
Every great route starts with curiosity. Our Scouts help keep published routes accurate, evaluate potential new rides, and explore roads that have yet to be verified. Their firsthand knowledge helps make Dirty Freehub routes a trusted resource for riders everywhere.

Ride Organizers
Bring people together.
Sometimes the best part of a gravel ride is the people you meet along the way. Our Ride Organizers help create welcoming community rides where cyclists can discover new places, share experiences, and build lasting connections.
Dirty Roads Crew
Get your hands dirty.
Fallen trees, overgrown corridors, and other obstacles can make great routes difficult or impossible to ride. The Dirty Roads Crew brings volunteers together for hands-on stewardship projects that help keep roads and trails accessible for the riding community.
Small Actions. Big Impact.
A rider reports a washed-out road. A Scout discovers a better route. A volunteer clears a fallen tree. A Ride Organizer introduces someone to gravel cycling for the first time.
Individually, these may seem like small things. Together, they make a big difference.
Stewardship is about more than the ride itself. It’s about caring for the places we explore, sharing what we know, strengthening our communities, and helping others experience the same sense of adventure that brought us here.
Every contribution helps make gravel cycling better for everyone.
