Living—and thriving—with Multiple Sclerosis doesn’t stop the ride; it just changes the way you take it on. This session dives into the real-life experiences of cyclists who refuse to let MS define their limits. Gravel Champ David Toste, a passionate rider living with MS, will lead an open, honest conversation about what it means to balance passion, perseverance, and physical challenges on the bike. Joining him will be Justine Calcagno another Dirty Freehub Gravel Champ and runner living with MS.
They are not here to lecture—they are here to connect, share, and help create a space where cyclists living with MS (and those who support them) can learn from one another. We’ll explore the topics that matter most when the trail gets rough:
- How to manage fatigue, heat, and flare-ups during training and long rides
- Choosing the right route — elevation, distance, bale out points, terrain, and weather considerations.
- Strategies for building strength and confidence on unpredictable terrain
- How to prepare for group rides and communicate your needs to teammates
- Mental resilience—staying motivated when your body has other plans
- Special considerations for picking a bike
And we’ll tackle some real, heartfelt questions from the community:
- What’s your biggest challenge—and biggest win—riding with MS?
- How do you adapt your training on days when symptoms hit hard?
- What helps you push through fear or doubt before a big ride?
- How do you find support from friends, family, and fellow cyclists?
- How can using a bike trainer help you prepare for outdoor riding
Who Should Attend: Whether you’re managing MS yourself, supporting a loved one, or simply want to learn how to make cycling more inclusive, this is your chance to connect, share stories, and leave inspired to keep rolling—no matter what the road ahead looks like.
