Darren, who was born in Hawaii and raised in Oregon, spent his childhood mountain biking with his mom in the Mount Hood and Bend areas. About five years ago, he stumbled upon road and gravel cycling, and now he loves almost every type of riding—from intense road rides and long gravel journeys to multi-day bikepacking trips, downhill mountain bike parks, and racing on Zwift. Darren runs a ski rental shop in Sandy that closes during the summer, giving him plenty of time to ride, explore new trails, and connect with other cyclists. When he’s not on a bike, you can usually find him rock climbing, ski mountaineering, skateboarding, snowboarding, or planning his next outdoor adventure.

Darren’s favorite Dirty Freehub routes are Japanese Hollow and Dalles Mountain 60.
