Brad Chalfant – “Grazzhopper” is a Community Partner Advisor at Dirty Freehub. He is the co-founder/longtime executive director of the Deschutes Land Trust, as well as co-founder of the Central Oregon Trails Alliance (COTA), Deschutes Trails Coalition and the Coalition of Oregon Land Trusts. Brad served nearly a dozen years on the Oregon State Parks Commission, along with serving on many other regional bicycle and land management committees, commissions and working groups.
Brad has been riding since the 60s where he grew up on a green Schwinn Sting-Ray, before jumping to a Raleigh “English” racer in high school, Peugeots in college, Gitane’s in law school and Bianchi’s ever since. He left his law career to spend some quality time on the slopes as a “ski bum.” During this time he collided with mountain bikes, crashed back into road biking, swerved into fat biking and bike packing, before finding enlightenment on gravel.
You’ll find him on a variety of bikes including a Ti Bianchi road bike, plastic Specialized Epic, aluminum Specialized Fatboy, steel is real J. Livingston commuter bike and lastly, a plastic Bombtrack Hook EXT-C gravel bike.
