Bob Lund is a civil engineer and retired public transit executive. With nearly five decades of experience managing complex infrastructure programs and leading large organizations, Bob has spent his career keeping critical transportation systems safe, reliable, and running under pressure. Today, he applies that same commitment to a different kind of infrastructure—our trails.

As a certified USFS sawyer and active volunteer with regional trail alliances, Bob trades boardrooms and capital programs for dirt, tools, and teamwork in the field. Bob also has also spent a lifetime of trail running, cycling, Nordic skiing, and other outdoor pursuits. His journey shows that trail stewardship isn’t just for outdoor professionals—it’s a powerful way for everyone to reconnect with tangible, meaningful work. Whether clearing logs, restoring tread, or maintaining access for riders and hikers, he believes that giving back through hands-on service is both deeply rewarding and essential to preserving the places we all enjoy.
