Walla Walla Grit

By Bicycle Barn / Eastern Washington

The Walla Walla Grit is a fast-growing gravel cycling event that showcases the natural beauty and vibrant outdoor recreation of the Walla Walla Valley. Located in the southeastern corner of Washington State, it’s known for its steep climbs on gravel roads, some of which are very chunky—more like a rock garden than a simple unpaved surface. Each of the three routes takes riders up and down approximately 100 ft/mi through rural fields and vineyards, with sweeping views of the Walla Walla valley.

While it’s a timed event, it’s meant to blur the line between a ride and a race. In a sense, to finish is to win. The Grit is about bringing people together who love gravel riding, challenging routes, and good vibes, all within a rural small-town atmosphere that embodies the Pacific Northwest spirit. It’s unpaved, unforgiving, and unforgettable.
