Join us for a special community training ride with Rick Marshall, one of Dirty Freehub’s Gravel Champs! Rick didn’t just discover gravel cycling — he rediscovered life through it. After serving as a US Army infantry officer and combat veteran, Rick turned to gravel riding as a way to cope with PTSD and heal from profound loss. Gravel became his path back to joy and adventure, and he’s spent the last few years transforming that passion into epic rides across America.
This 20–30 mile ride is a chance to train with Rick just 60 days before he lines up for Unbound Gravel, the world’s premier gravel event.
As you ride, Rick will share his story — from his first bike after years away from cycling, to crossing the U.S. by gravel bike, and how the gravel community helped him find peace and purpose.
Whether you’re a back-of-the-pack rider like Rick, a weekend grinder, or somewhere in between, this ride is for you. Come ready to pedal, listen, connect, and be part of something meaningful.
Bring your bike, bring a friend… and ride for the stories that keep us going.
