With the major Forest Service cutbacks in 2025, trail […]

Oh my, the rain is packing down the dirt and turning this into PERFECT riding conditions. Big, Big Red starts outside of Bend, takes us through La Pine State Park for all sorts of river hugging fun. The riding is a fun mix of gravel/dirt roads, single-track and paved bike paths. The river views are spectacularly beautiful.

A bit of a gamble, but fingers crossed that this ride will go off. The past few days have been almost smokeless so why not give it a go … the ride is Gravel Cracker but we are going to find a way to skip the famous gravel cracker hill. Which means we will weasel our way through Black Butte … by hook or by crook. (If you have a good version […]
Big, Big Red is a great ride, perfect for a warmer day because, because, because… the route is water hugging water … we have a water stop with drinkable water … climbing is minimal … and there are plenty of points to just punch out should 48 miles feel like it’s getting too long. There’s also plenty of tree coverage, including […]
Post is the dead center of Oregon surrounded by the Ochoco National Forest. The route is called Meatloaf and is named from the world famous meatloaf sandwiches served up by the Post store (which is highly decorated in stuffed animals and has a Western history that makes Billy the Kid envious.) The riding is superb … the route boasts one of […]

See the Meetup Site for all the details, including how to register for the […]
Lucky 13. That’s the number of cyclists we are taking with us to find the timid Wolf Rock, the largest monolithic rock in Oregon. Hot diggity … it’s the perfect time of year to ride. We love water-seeking routes that let us take a dip if it gets too hot. And routes with places to fill up empty water bottles. So why not tackle Sherman’s Waltz, but with the Suttle Lake start so we can dive in the lake after.
43 miles, 3,000 feet of climbing
July 25th, Suttle […]
