Avenue of the Giants

A mixed gravel bike ride along a river, through farmlands, and highlighted by 8 miles through giant redwood trees.

Bee Line

Development Route
Florence, Oregon
This is a variation of the Honeyman route. It is much shorter, climbs up along Maple Creek instead of descending, and adds a remote but paved sector of logging road through a beautiful mature-growth forest with big, old trees. We like this ride for its convenience, the mix of rural and forested lands, and the lakes.

Big & Small Trees Loop

Big Red

Big, Big Red

A longer version of Big Red that is easily accessible from Bend. We really like this route before Memorial Day and after Labor Day. During the summer, it has a “pinball wizard” feeling as you navigate through Sunriver during the height of tourist season.

Crosscut

Development Route

Tahkenitch and Siltcoos lakes are scenic features along this primarily gravel bike route, nestled within the Oregon Coast range. Much of the ride follows Five Mile Creek, which flows through protected land of the Siuslaw National Forest and is home to old growth forests and abundant wildlife.

Tillamook Timber

Adventure in the Tillamook State Forest! This route explores the areas surrounding the future Salmonberry Trail. The major climb of the day comes early, at mile 3.5. You will gain just over 850 feet in 2 miles, an average gradient of 6%. Some sections of the climb exceed 10% for a short bit. From here on, it is scenic vistas and hulking logging equipment to see up close.
