When We Like to Ride This

Spring through Fall. For the hearty and brave, it can also be done in the winter if the snow line is above 3000 feet.

Terrain & Riding

This route starts in town and then winds up to the Historic Columbia River Highway (Route 30), which has gobstopping views of the Columbia Gorge…take the extra minutes to turn out to the viewpoints. The route includes a tunnel perfect for cyclists. And miles 1 to 6 are closed to cars!

At mile 6, in Mosier, the route turns south, and begins climbing. The climb is deep in the forest and offers up a lot of shade. When at the top, begin an immediate gravel descent that turns to paved quickly, and offers up some great break out views.

If we lived in Hood River, this would be a go to route for us.
