Cannibal: a person (or in this case a route) that eats the flesh of other human beings. (Or maybe…a mountain top along the way.)

This route showcases the raw beauty of the ancient Siuslaw National Forest and some of its seriously stout hills. It is a take-off of the Oregon Coast Gravel Epic (Abomination route), but instead of the start / finish in Waldport the start / finish is in Yachats.

Caution, this is a Development Route. It has not been fully vetted or ridden by the Dirty Freehub Team. Go prepared and expect a bit more adventure. Any feedback you have would be much appreciated. You can leave it below in the comments block.

Yachats Dining

Vist Yachats

Just south of the start is Yachats. Here are a couple of our favorite stops!

For coffee we really like the Village Bean, 19 years loyal to Portland Coffee Roasters. Baked daily are savory scones, coffee-cake, fruit pastries, chocolate brownies and chocolate chip cookies.

For something after the ride we recommend the Drift Inn, serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner every day with nightly live music. The menu is an eclectic mix of family favorites and original dishes focused on fresh ingredients and the Pacific Northwest. They also have homemade soups, fresh-baked bread, and decadent desserts.
