Webinar: Cycling with Type 1 Diabetes Sharing Session

Every T1D athlete has their tricks, hacks, and battle plans for handling the curveballs that Type 1 Diabetes can throw at you. This is your chance to swap those secrets with fellow riders.

Gravel cyclist Jim Sipe—an inductee into the Dirty Freehub Gravel Champs Hall of Fame—is leading a real, no-fluff conversation about what it’s like to train, ride, and even race with Type 1 Diabetes. Jim’s not here to lecture. He’s here to share, learn, and help create a space where T1D athletes can support one another.

Who Should Attend:
Whether you’re a weekend warrior, a seasoned racer, or just curious about gravel cycling, this is a space to connect, trade ideas, and pick up real-world tips from people who get it.

Details:
We’ll be diving into the practical stuff that matters most when the rubber hits the road, including:

  • Where do you place your CGM for comfort and accuracy while riding?
  • What happens to your blood sugar during long rides or races?
  • How do you recover after a big event (without derailing your training)?
  • How to keep your gear—and your glucose—dialed in no matter the weather.
  • How do you pick routes, look at the maps, and plan for the ride in conjunction with managing your blood sugar?

And because every T1D journey is personal, we’ll also tackle some real-life questions from the community:

  • What’s your biggest fear in cycling?
  • How do you prep your riding buddies so they’ve got your back?
  • How do you reset when things start going sideways on a ride?
  • How do you convince your significant other that this whole cycling thing is actually a great idea?

Tuesday, November 18th, 7pm PST (Pacific Standard Time)
