Forrest is a high school science teacher at Grand Canyon Unified School District located within Grand Canyon National Park on the South Rim. He feels strongly that the purpose of education is to help students become democratically engaged citizens.

Forrest pursues long-distance gravel riding, bikepacking, and backpacking. He thru-hiked the Arizona Trail in 2019 and has designed a bikepacking route around the Grand Canyon called Capes of the Canyon. To him, bicycles are the best instrument for immersing in the amazing biodiversity of Arizona and building an appreciation of topophilia for this state’s wildlands.

Favorite DF Route: Puerto Blanco Drive or Buenos Aires – both are just such incredible areas with rich biodiversity!
